Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Building Mechanical Engineer III with a specialization in HVAC systems to join our team at our nickel refinery plant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, implementing, and maintaining HVAC systems specifically for industrial environments. This role requires a deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles, energy efficiency, and sustainability practices, with a focus on the unique challenges of a refinery setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop HVAC systems tailored to the specific needs of our nickel refinery plant.
- Conduct load calculations, energy modeling, and system sizing for industrial applications.
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation.
- Collaborate with plant managers, process engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of HVAC systems with refinery operations.
- Perform site inspections and provide technical support during construction and maintenance phases.
- Evaluate and select appropriate HVAC equipment and materials suitable for refinery conditions.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes and standards, as well as industry-specific regulations.
- Identify opportunities for energy efficiency improvements and implement sustainable solutions within the refinery.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and technicians.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices relevant to industrial HVAC systems.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in HVAC system design and implementation, with a focus on industrial environments.
- Proficiency in HVAC design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Trane TRACE).
- Strong knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulations, including those specific to industrial facilities.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
