Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Building Mechanical Engineer III with a specialization in HVAC systems to join our team at our nickel refinery plant. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, implementing, and maintaining HVAC systems specifically for industrial environments. This role requires a deep understanding of mechanical engineering principles, energy efficiency, and sustainability practices, with a focus on the unique challenges of a refinery setting. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Design and develop HVAC systems tailored to the specific needs of our nickel refinery plant. 
  • Conduct load calculations, energy modeling, and system sizing for industrial applications. 
  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation. 
  • Collaborate with plant managers, process engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of HVAC systems with refinery operations. 
  • Perform site inspections and provide technical support during construction and maintenance phases. 
  • Evaluate and select appropriate HVAC equipment and materials suitable for refinery conditions. 
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal codes and standards, as well as industry-specific regulations. 
  • Identify opportunities for energy efficiency improvements and implement sustainable solutions within the refinery. 
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and technicians. 
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices relevant to industrial HVAC systems. 

Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. 
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred. 
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in HVAC system design and implementation, with a focus on industrial environments. 
  • Proficiency in HVAC design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Trane TRACE). 
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulations, including those specific to industrial facilities. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities. 
  • Commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency.
