About the role

NOTE: Applicants must meet time-in-grade and time after competitive appointment requirements, by the closing date of this announcement. Time-In-Grade Requirements: Federal applicants must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade to satisfy time-in-grade restrictions, per 5CFR 300, Subpart F. Applicants must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 level in the Federal service which provided you with: Knowledge of organizational, operational, and programmatic concepts and practices applied by public, private, or nonprofit agencies and organizations engaged in public health or other health-related activities; Knowledge of the methods, processes, and techniques used to develop and deliver public health or health-related programs in State and local settings; Knowledge of a specialized public health program; Knowledge of, and skill in, the application of administrative or analytical methods and techniques necessary for working within the framework of a public health or related organization and carrying out specific program functions; Skill in oral and written communications, gathering and conveying information, making oral presentations, and preparing reports, correspondence, and other written materials. Examples of qualifying specialized experience include: • Public Health Advisor positions - providing advice and assistance to State and local governments, and to various public, nonprofit, and private agencies and organizations on matters relating to the improvement of their public health activities. • Public Health Analyst positions - conducting studies and performing other analytical work related to the planning, development, organization, administration, evaluation, and delivery of public health programs. In addition, qualifying specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience providing technical advisement to U.S. embassy teams on matters related to the development and maintenance of public and private partnerships to support the advancement of U.S. health initiatives and foreign assistance programs to solve Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) challenges. Experience overseeing the full awards cycle of U.S. government health service delivery awards management, to include designing, implementation and monitoring of awards to private firms. Experience collaborating with senior policymakers from partner countries on the development of policeis that promote infectious diseases best practices and ensure safe operations with these countries. There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-14 position.
