The System Engineering Directorate is the central focus for Mission Systems Integration activities within Raytheon, responsible for defining customer needs, functional and product architecture, requirements definition and decomposition, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), system performance, and System Security Engineering (SSE).

The Land Warfare and Missile Defense Systems (LADS) department is seeking a Netherlands Patriot Chief Engineer (CE) and Technical Director (TD) with the technical expertise and engineering leadership skills to drive the design and development of world-class Air and Missile Defense Systems.  The Netherlands CE/TD will be directly responsible for all country capability roadmaps, system analysis, concept development, requirements development, hardware design, software design, integration thread development, system performance to include integration and test, and integrated sustainment plans on the Netherlands Patriot program. This position will directly interface with the customers from the United States Government (USG) and the Netherlands Government. This role will support the $500M+ Direct Commercial Sale (DCS) Netherlands Patriot Replenishment contract, as well as the pursuits for a follow-on 2 Lot DCS award and FMS upgrade programs. This position is located in Tewksbury, MA and may require occasional travel.

This is an “Onsite” role in Tewksbury, MA and requires a daily on-site presence and is not open to hybrid or remote possibilities

What You Will Do:

  • You will establish and manage a program vision, strategy and goals to align the Program with the Customer and facilitate conflict resolution
  • You will ensure technical integrity and engineering execution across all Integrated Product Teams (IPTs), Cross Product Teams (CPTs), and disciplines within the Program to cost, schedule, technical requirements
  • You will be the primary program technical point of contact with the customer senior technical counterparts and internal senior program management and engineering leadership.
  • You will provide technical advisory disposition for Export / Import (EXIM) compliance
  • You may expect 10% Domestic/International travel

Qualification You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 10 years of prior relevant Systems Engineering and Patriot experience. In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. 

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Experience in Patriot Program (or similar program) system design, development, integration/verification, production, and sustainment
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic development, customer interface, or contract capture in the Defense Industry
  • Direct experience with International FMS programs and International Supplier’s/Partner’s engineering execution
  • Direct experience with Army IAMD Systems of Systems (SoS)
  • Direct experience in concepts of operations development and/or design of system level architecture
  • Direct experience managing resources with annual budgets exceeding $25 million
  • Direct experience working proposals with annual engineering run rates exceeding $25 million
  • Direct experience with Engineering Risks and Opportunities (R&O) Management
  • Demonstrated experience with globally distributed engineering execution organizations (CONUS and OCONUS)
  • Direct experience with international industrial participation and technology transfer
  • Existing Secret C
