Manager, Financial Accounting

Bumble is looking for a Manager, Financial Accounting to play a pivotal role in a dynamic team. You will own full cycle accounting for various US and foreign entities and will take responsibility for managing a team of accountants to ensure monthly close tasks and procedures are performed timely. Additional responsibilities include review of variance analysis and ensuring month-end close procedures are SOX compliant.
You will work across the finance organization as well as other key stakeholders such as Marketing, FP&A, Legal and other business partners. This position will report to our Senior Manager, Financial Accounting based in Austin, Texas.

What you'll be doing

• Manage and oversee the month-end close process including review and posting of journal entries, account reconciliations and review the work of others
• Heavy focus on ensuring global marketing expenses are accurate and complete Interface with global teams, outside service providers, and vendors in support of company goals and objectives
• Proactively identify areas for potential improvements and collaborate with Senior Manager, Financial Accounting on planning and execution
• Ensure all SOX controls assigned to team are followed and documented properly
• Mentor and coach other team members
• Assist in the quarterly and annual financial statement and controls audits
• Liaise with international service providers to ensure deadlines for local filings are met
• Assist with special projects and other duties as needed
• Ensure local and statutory compliance

About you

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field CPA (or equivalent) designation required
• 7+ years of accounting experience; 2+ years of manager experience; public accounting experience required; Big 4 and/ or public/ private mix preferred
• You have strong working knowledge of US GAAP and SOX
• You have excellent project management skills and experience working with a fast-paced public company in a global environment
• You have experience coaching a team and reviewing the work of others 
• Proficient in NetSuite
• You are team oriented, ‘can do’ attitude and keen to learn
• You have a high level of accuracy/attention to detailYou are a self starter who is comfortable working at pace and who takes a proactive approach
