Job Description
Role Summary:
Due to our continued growth, we are looking to add an experienced Scrum Master to our FactoryTalk product development team. You will understand, apply and coach Agile and Lean principles within the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). You will create and maintain an environment for continuous learning and improvement. You will help the agile team coordinate dependencies with other teams and communicate status of these dependencies. You will collaborate with other agile teams to identify and promote best practices and lessons learned to improve team and program performance.
Essential Functions:
- Guide rather than drive teams toward objectives, goals, and continuous improvement
- Initiate and fosters collaboration, communication, and team building
- Work to remove impediments in the organization so that the team can focus on achieving its goals
- Facilitate team and program continuous improvement
- Help assure the team follows ScrumXP/Agile best practices and product development processes
- Help the team achieve and improve in areas including quality, predictability, flow, and velocity
- Facilitate ScrumXP, Agile and SAFe rituals including Daily Stand Up, Sprint Planning, mid-Sprint review, Demo, Retrospective, and Inspect and Adapt workshops
- Coordinate solution implementation and delivery with other Scrum Masters and external teams
- Provide effective correspondence to all levels of the organization, including progress tracking and reporting
- Maintain relevant metrics that help the team and program see how they are doing
- Balance changes in direction or requirements while protecting the team so the team can achieve committed objectives
- Collaborate with Product Owners to ensure team execution and performance are aligned with business objectives – near and long-term
- Help to create a culture of openness, honesty, and transparency
- Coordinate with other Scrum Masters and Shared Resources in planning meetings
- Help manage the team's relationships with outside team members
- Coordinates team efforts under architectural and portfolio governance
- Collaborate with an engineering manager to build an agile culture in teams
- Foster a high-performing team by focusing on ever-improving team dynamics and performance
- Help protect the team from uncontrolled injection of work
- Deal with conflicts, failure, and protect team by saying "no"
- Be a model for addressing conflict and barriers to collaboration
- Demonstrate servant leadership, facilitating and coaching rather than directing
- Work to empower teams and individuals
The Essentials - You Will Have:
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent relevant experience.
The Preferred - You Might Also Have:
- Typically requires 5+ years of relevant experience in Software Development/Test, Applications Engineering work, Technical Support, or other related role
- Experience in an Agile development environment
- In depth knowledge of Agile methodologies and techniques
- Experience as a scrum master (with certification)
- Previous experience in a leadership role
- Certification as Agile Coach
- Knowledge of, or experience with Rockwell Automation products or other industrial control equipment
