GENERAL PURPOSE
Highly skilled professional with exceptional technical aptitude in networked products to lead and manage all aspects of the Middle Atlantic power business. This role focuses on driving global profitable growth while mentoring and providing strategic leadership to cross-functional product development teams. The ideal candidate will excel in aligning product innovation with business objectives, fostering collaboration, and delivering results in a competitive global market.
DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILTIES
- Effectively manage, develop, and motivate direct report(s).
- Be the product expert and champion for the entire portfolio of power products, firmware and affiliated accessories, with deep knowledge and expertise of products and markets. Will be responsible for defining and developing all aspects of product strategy – customer insights, product requirements, channel strategy, pricing, product launch tactics, and product lifecycle.
- Create and articulate the strategy and vision for new products within established lines through development of a product or product family roadmap sequenced to deliver products and stream of revenue/profit to hit objectives at key product introduction windows.
- Research global markets and products and help define market opportunity by region.
- Prioritize product opportunities based on research and long-term growth and profitability.
- Identify superior customer value, technological advantages, or patent opportunities and translate these into a clear Program Requirements Document (PRD) complete with a crisp definition of the differentiated value proposition for the product or family, focus on total customer/end-user experience – buying journey is essential.
- Work with Marketing to develop and direct Voice of Customer (VOC) research to identify market opportunities, gather insights and validate product concepts throughout the product development process.
- Generate business cases for new initiatives, develop and maintain cost, performance, and timing requirements at the outset and throughout all new programs.
- Conduct in-depth strategic analysis with keen understanding and insights into unique channel/customer requirements as well as competitive environment.
- Define ways for us to expand product leadership vs. the competition in a way that the customer can value and can easily be communicated.
- Work with Marketing to develop marketing plans and strategies for new and existing products.
- Work collaboratively with Product Development and Sourcing organizations to define Product Specifications. Negotiate with same organizations to achieve strongest products given reality of constraints and tradeoffs.
- Support sales team in launching new products, markets, and channels through the creation of solid selling tools (clearly define how product wins).
- Establish, implement and control ongoing global pricing plans.
- Coordinate product launches with product training and promotion strategies.
- Monitor and give guidance to sales for target-market top-line growth.
- Maintain P&L responsibility for Middle Atlantic power. Develop multi-year category plans and Product Roadmaps to support revenue & profit targets. Relentlessly work to improve margin performance, including identification of redesign and cost-down opportunities.
- Evangelize new products at customer calls, trade shows and other showcase opportunities.
- Support the Global Supply Chain in meeting inventory management objectives with oversight to Lifecycle Management.
- Track competitive products and prepare appropriate competitive strategies.
- Train and manage direct reports.
- Understand workplace hazards and take steps to proactively prevent and report hazards or injuries in the workplace. Cooperate in Safety Programs, initiatives, and investigations.

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Ability to define a product strategy for a 5-year horizon.
- Ability to collaborate and negotiate product tradeoffs to achieve performance, schedule, and cost objectives.
- Strong financial skills with ability to manage P&L metrics and coordinate global pricing.
- Excellent project management and planning skills, while providing high attention to details.
- Deep understanding of power distribution systems, including PDUs (Power Distribution Units), UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supplies), and backup power solutions.
