What you’ll do

Become part of an iconic brand that is set to revolutionize the all-electric pick-up truck & rugged SUV marketplace by achieving the following:

• Responsible for building in-car user interfaces, entertainment (media streaming and video games), ADAS visualization, and our mobile application.
• Collaborate with the internal design, fulfillment and operations teams, product owners, other designers, sales and scheduling teams, developers and project managers.
• Be a key contributor and originator in their own right.
• Deliverables include design mockups, experience flows, prototyping, design presentations, production of visual assets, process design and development.

Location & Travel Expectations: The responsibilities of this role require attendance at in-person meetings and events regularly. The role will be based out of a Scout Motors location in Detroit, MI or San Francisco, CA. Applicants should expect that the role may require the ability to convene with Scout colleagues in person and be able to travel to participate in events on behalf of the company from time to time.

What you’ll bring

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science or a related field.
• 4+ years of engineering experience focused on developing user interfaces, ADAS visualizations, and/or consumer-facing applications.
• Proficiency in C++.
• Excellent grasp of fundamental computer science concepts.
• Experience writing and shipping customer-facing code.
• Willingness to learn new technologies in any area of the stack.
• Experience using common design patterns in the software industry.
• Experience working with multithreaded applications.
• High standards for code quality, maintainability, and performance
• Must have an affinity for minimal design, typography, and attention to the smallest of details.
