The University of the Cumberlands is seeking a dedicated and student-focused professional to serve as an Executive Enrollment Coordinator. This primarily remote role involves guiding executive program students through the initial enrollment and ongoing registration processes, ensuring timely completion of all necessary documentation, and providing continuous support throughout their academic journey.
While the coordinator will support all executive students, a significant portion of the student body originates from South Asia. Therefore, the role requires an understanding of the specific needs and considerations pertinent to these students and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Student Onboarding & Enrollment Support
- Act as the primary contact for executive students post-admission, assisting with the accurate and timely submission of all required documents (e.g., transcripts, financial forms, visas).
- Conduct virtual orientation sessions focused on explaining the university's low-residency model, program structures, and academic expectations.
- Ongoing Student Engagement
- Maintain regular virtual communication with enrolled students to promote retention and facilitate re-enrollment.
- Collaborate with academic advisors, the financial aid office, and the registrar to address and resolve any issues that may impede student progress or registration.
- Communication & Support
- Develop strong relationships with students and their families, offering support that respects and acknowledges their backgrounds.
- Provide assistance in Hindi for students and families when language barriers arise, ensuring clear and effective communication.
- Ensure that university communications and processes are accessible and comprehensible to students for whom English is a second language.
- Institutional Engagement
- Advise university departments on scheduling and communication practices.
- Inform academic and administrative units about significant South Asian holidays, customs, and cultural practices to prevent scheduling conflicts.
- Develop and disseminate training materials or resources aimed at enhancing understanding and promoting best practices within the university community.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree (Master’s preferred) in Higher Education, Student Affairs, Intercultural Studies, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in enrollment, advising, or student support within a higher education setting.
- Proficiency in Hindi (both spoken and written).
- Experience supporting students from diverse backgrounds, particularly those from South Asia.
- Exceptional interpersonal, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, demonstrating self-motivation and effective time management.
Preferred:
- Experience with low-residency or hybrid academic programs.
- Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems such as Slate or Ellucian.
- Knowledge of immigration processes and international student documentation.
