About the role
As an Area Sales Manager in the D.C., Baltimore area, you’ll lead a high-performing team, driving overall sales and achieving budget targets for your Area Team. The Area Sales Manager is responsible for developing, coaching and teaching a team of Retail Sales leads. This will include weekly ride days to develop staff. This requires 60% travel. The ideal candidate will reside in the D.C., Baltimore area.
Retail Role Details:
- The ideal candidate will reside within 45 miles of the center of this territory
- This is a salaried position with quarterly bonus opportunity
- You will be eligible to choose one of our Fleet Program options:
- Company Car with insurance and a gas card
- Auto Vehicle Reimbursement: allows you to choose what you drive and be reimbursed for business use of your own vehicle
- You will receive a monthly stipend for cell phone usage
A Taste of What You’ll Be Doing
- Drive Results – Coach and develop your team to achieve key metrics. These metrics encompass the POS (Point of Sale) budget, call coverage, and maintaining a “perfect shelf” strategy.
- Selling, Negotiating, and Executing Business Plans – Collaborate with decision makers. Utilizing business intelligence data, you’ll craft a compelling selling narrative to drive business growth for both your customers and Kellanova.
- Leverage Data - Use analytics to track KPI’s, achieve goals and identify areas for improvement.
- Communication - Present business reviews to senior level leadership to showcase team performance.
We’re Looking for Someone With
- Significant sales experience combined with people leadership experience, ideally in the Consumer Product Goods industry
- Account management experience (i.e., headquarters, district, region, or market level)
- Strong understanding of analytics and ability to use multiple sources to build a selling story (i.e., account data, scan data, POS data etc.)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Ability to drive to multiple locations
- This is a driving role which requires the use of a personal vehicle. To meet the requirements of the role, you must have 2 or less moving violations within the last 36 months.
