Job Summary
Castalia Systems is currently searching for a Network and Computer Systems Administrator (Journeyman) for the US Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation System eXtended (US BICES-X) program in Hawaii. US Battlefield Information Collection and Exploitation System eXtended (US BICES-X) is a cutting-edge program supporting DoD intelligence information sharing on current and emerging global threats to mission and coalition partners and emerging nations. With an internationally dispersed team supporting each combatant command, the US BICES-X team is in direct support of the war fighter and their missions. We are seeking a creative and driven professional with a passion for solving real world challenges on a cross-functional, fast paced team.
Roles and Responsibilities
A qualified candidate will perform the following duties and responsibilities, but are not limited to:
- Responsible for the design and development of voice, video, and/or data communications networks.
- Analyzes voice, video, and/or data communications networks, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting, and upgrading operating systems and protocol suites and configuring communication media with routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, concentrators, bridges, and other devices.
- Plans network layouts and configures systems to user environments.
- Analyzes network topologies and traffic and capacity requirements.
- Supports the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.
- May provide technical support and troubleshooting to users.
- May perform network administration duties.
- May provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced network personnel.
- Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of directly related experience in network engineering.
- BA/BS in related field, additional experience may substitute for degree
- This position is deemed a DoD IA Workforce, IAT Level II position and requires 8570/8140 compliance.
- A valid Cisco CCNA certification
