We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Manager of Patient Care Pharmacist Operations to lead our patient care pharmacist and intake teams. You’ll be responsible for driving culture, measuring success through data, and ensuring our patients have excellent experiences. You will develop, manage, and drive appropriate KPIs to measure the performance of the team and individuals. You will also be responsible for delivering operational excellence, particularly as it pertains to patient safety, team performance metrics and compliance.  You will use your in-depth knowledge and experience of pharmacy practice, operations, and leadership to meet and exceed SLAs.

The pharmacist team you manage will handle all aspects of prescription accuracy – from entering/correcting new prescriptions entering Alto through to order checking outbound prescriptions. The Patient Care Pharmacy team manages all aspects of Alto’s industry-leading clinical accuracy. Also, the team operates across geographically dispersed sites, so the manager must have a practical understanding of multi-state compliance and reporting. The technician team is responsible for intaking all prescriptions, which are passed to the pharmacist team for data check. Key responsibilities include ensuring proper staffing day-to-day, maximizing productivity, and achieving and exceeding quality targets. 

Additional responsibilities include partnering with our recruiting and HR teams to attract, hire, develop, and retain a team of pharmacists and technicians.  You will use your experience growing teams to identify and evaluate high-performing, high-potential candidates.  Post-hire, you will oversee and coach their performance management and development through the Patient Care Pharmacists Leads and Care Supervisor(s). This would include partnering with multiple departments such as Pharmacy Compliance, Quality/Learning & Development, Workforce Management, Data Analytics, Product, and other operational teams to ensure that the clinical pharmacy team is fully supported and effectively integrated into the value stream.

  • Partnering with pharmacy compliance to ensure that the pharmacy practice and pharmacies are compliant with:
    • Local, state, and federal rules and regulations regarding the practice of pharmacy
    • Third party payor contract rules and regulations held by Alto
    • Policies and procedures as set forth by Alto

A Bit About You

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must currently be licensed as a Pharmacist in the state of Texas, Colorado, New York and or California
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision including developing and implementing company wide impactful projects and initiatives. 
  • Ability to make sound decisions as a leader and understanding the importance of when to lean into other teams for support. 
  • Comfortable with presenting your team's performance to VP+ leadership in a clear, concise manner. 
  • Bridging to performance gaps weekly using data and facts, with clear recovery plans and timelines.
  • Previous experience as a pharmacy leader overseeing multiple pharmacies and a larger team (>20+ pharmacy professionals)
  • Experience using tools such as Excel, Google suite, and Looker to collect, analyze, and interpret data.
  • Demonstrate record of driving KPI improvements.
  • Pharmacist licensed and in good standing with the State Board of Pharmacy in the state that you are applying for.
