OnsiteAs an Electrical Engineering Supervisor for the Collins Aerospace Galley Inserts group, you will supervise entry and intermediate Electrical Engineering professional employees. In this role you will execute and supervise projects innovating and maintaining designs of various Galley equipment such as ovens, beverage makers, air chillers and refrigerators. Our products give airlines the ability to serve passengers with a hot meal and beverage when flying around the world.
You will report to the Engineering Manager in Lenexa, but also remain part of multidisciplinary teams consisting of engineers worldwide.
This role is eligible for relocation support.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead and develop entry and intermediate electrical engineering professionals.
Develop electrical and electronic projects to meet stated design requirements.
Develop requirements for the electrical interfaces of electro-mechanical systems in cooperation with system, software, and mechanical engineers.
Design electrical hardware for 3-phase power switching, sensor interfaces, digital and analog signals.
Perform detail and system analysis, modeling, and simulation.
Design electrical schematics, select components, design, and review layouts of PCB assemblies.
Participates on local and international teams to develop solutions to complex engineering problems. Defines statement of work for domestic and international suppliers to develop software life cycle data per system requirements.
Participates in design reviews of electrical systems to assess new product development readiness.
Develop test methods and procedures to validate electrical designs against requirements.
Analyze qualification requirements and define test methods to satisfy airworthiness qualification needs.
Support reporting of test results in all phases of product development.
Troubleshoot electrical qualification, manufacturing and field failures for root cause and design improvements.
Communicate design needs to supply chain and work with suppliers to meet defined electrical design requirements.
Researches, develops, designs, and tests electrical components, equipment, systems, and networks.
Support Production and supply chain in finding alternative components in case of obsolescence.
Qualifications/ Experience Needed
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.
Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future. RTX will not offer sponsorship for this position.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading technical teams of 5+ members
Experience with DO-160 electrical airworthiness certification
Experience in printed circuit board design and testing
Experience working with international teams
