This role is part of TeraWave, a satellite communications network designed to deliver symmetrical data speeds of up to 6 Tbps anywhere on Earth. This network will service tens of thousands of enterprise, data center, and government users who require reliable connectivity for critical operations.The role is part of the In-Space Systems business unit, which is focused on addressing two of the most compelling challenges in spaceflight today: space infrastructure and increasing mobility on-orbit.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Design & Development
Lead development of structural and mechanical subsystems throughout the entire design cycle, including conceptual and detailed design, trade studies, structural analysis, development testing and qualification
Generate 3-D models, component drawings, assembly drawings, and interface control documents
Create documentation for assembly and testing of development and flight hardware
Participate in subsystem level testing including planning, execution, data reduction and analysis
Manufacturing & Production
Develop component specifications and manage suppliers
Coordinate and oversee manufacturing and production activities
Facilitate the development and purchase of new equipment and tooling
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to produce world class aerospace hardware
Technical Leadership
Lead design reviews and technical gate reviews
Mentor junior engineers in structural design principles and best practices
Develop innovative solutions to complex structural challenges
Ensure designs meet all requirements for performance, safety, and reliability
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in engineering
Minimum of 7 years of experience in design & development of large aerospace structures
Knowledge in material selection, compatibility, and manufacturing techniques
Strong mechanical design and integration skills using 3D CAD software
Comprehension of classical stress analysis methods
Familiar with application of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and variation analysis
