A Day in the Life
This role within Employee Relations Shared Services will have responsibility for managing the operations team that supports the Employee & Labour Relations (COE) for EMEA as well as core processes in Workforce Transitions (RIF).This role requires maintaining confidential information with heightened sense of data integrity and accuracy, the incumbent will also perform some operational tasks and entry-level employee relations issues, promoting a positive culture within the business, while minimizing risks and maintaining neutrality. The role will independently perform and lead specialized operational-related tasks for reduction in force, ER Operations and/or shared services project work and tasks as directed; with a heightened sense and drive for process improvement.
This role requires collaboration, leadership, tact, discretion, and judgment to accomplish objectives. In addition to Employee Relations and Workforce Transitions, this role requires collaboration across the broader HR Community including HR Business Partner teams, Employment Law/Legal, Compliance, and other key stakeholders as applicable, to deliver a fair, consistent HR and ER and/or compliance service. The position is planned to work hybrid and will report into the ER Shared Services organization.
This position will work from one of our Medtronic office locations; the position will work per the workstyle guidelines and will report into the ER Shared Services organization.
A Day in the Life
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.
- Establishes standards and procedures for handling employee questions, transactions and administration of ELR related matters; including streamlining operational processes and procedures.
- Partners with Employee & Labor Relations to provide operations support and input on program/process design and development and entry-level ER matters.
- Acts as a liaison for the administration of Employee Relations programs/processes, AskHR other Shared Services as applicable.
- Engage and collaborate with key stakeholders to create new processes and improve current processes developing short and long term plans to increase effectiveness and efficiency, and be able to measure that over time.
- Leverage weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports of standard global and regional metrics - share with appropriate stakeholders to drive adoption of shared services and continuous improvement efforts.
- Support escalated matters and monitor workload of team across multiple locations.
- Collaborates across the Human Resources function to establish operational standards and procedures that are leveraged to respond to employee and manager questions, ensures transactions are processed accurately and HR/ER programs and processes are administered effectively and efficiently.
- Advises managers and employees on entry-level RIF and ER related matters. Escalating situations as appropriate to the applicable Center of Expertise.
- Executes and assists in the development, implementation and administration of project processes and procedures. Identifies efficiencies and implementation of process improvements. Examples include termination and restructuring process, data entry & metrics, etc.
- Member of the Data Management team ensuring flawless execution and reporting of personal/confidential information for RIFs.
- Maintains strict confidentiality in managing highly confidential human resources information and exercise sound judgment in handling or working with confidential data and situations.
- Provides coaching and manages work assignments to meet quality, performance and service goals.
- Provides day-to-day work direction for team, focused on maintaining steady workflow, resource allocation and productivity.
- Monitors and escalates team capacity levels and adjust as needed
Key Skills & Experience
- Bachelors degree required with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 1 years of relevant experience
- Experience supporting Employee Relations in multiple locations 1
- 1-2 years of leadership experience in a Human Resources capacity, preferably in Employee Relations
- Demonstrated knowledge of employment law
- Demonstrated knowledge of Employee Relations procedures and processes
- Demonstrated ability to provide strategic, proactive partnership to leaders
- Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication skills
