What You Will Do

A Software Engineers in this group will help guide the creation, installation, and support for systems in our attractions. We work closely with internal partners to deliver world-class guest experiences with attraction platforms and systems across Walt Disney World and Disney Cruise Lines. You will report to Team Lead, Platform / Attractions Systems.

This is a TA/Project Hire role.

Responsibilities

  • You will develop or update several next-generation proprietary Disney software packages with a focus on front end and user experience.

  • You will support the current generation of attraction messaging system.

Required Qualifications & Skills

  • Experience in Python, JavaScript and Node.js.

  • Experience with at least one front-end framework (e.g., Angular, React, Vue).

  • Understanding of UX/UI principles and design.

  • General scripting knowledge (batch, bash, PowerShell).

  • Experience with Docker.

  • Knowledge of Software Development Life cycle and QA processes.

  • Knowledge of Object-Oriented Software Design Patterns.

  • Experience with revision control software, such as GitHub and GitLab.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of building RESTful APIs.

  • Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, GCP or Azure.

  • Knowledge of microservices.

  • Experience with project management and documentation tools such as Atlassian Jira & Confluence.

  • Familiarity with Agile development methods.

  • Understanding of automated testing and continuous integration.

Education

  • Bachelor of Science in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent technical background.

The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
