REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

Clearance

Current U.S.TS/SCI clearance required (T5 Investigation). (Elevated/Privileged Access).

 

Education

Bachelor of Science/Arts Degree in Engineering or Computer Science OR

Associate’s degree plus seven (7) years of specialized experience

 

Experience

Experience in monitoring intrusion detection and security information management systems to detect malicious and/or anomalous activity.

Experience in triaging and evaluating the detected events to determine if an  incident occurred.

Ability to analyze data, such as logs or packets captures, from various sources within the enterprise and draw conclusions regarding past and future security incidents.

Experience in coordinating response to incidents with both technical and non-technical parties. Knowledge of hacker techniques (TTPs) and exploits, including current security threat

landscape.

Experience documenting incidents from initial detection through final resolution.

 

Certification

Any of the following:

Cisco Cyber Ops Professional,

GIAC Certified Enterprise Defender (GCED),

GCIH,

GCFA,

GCFE,

GIAC Continuous Monitoring Certification (GMON),

GNFA,

Blue Team Level 2,

Microsoft Certified: Cybersecurity Architect Expert, or

OSDA

 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Senior Cyber Incident Handling Analyst performs advanced cyber incident investigation, initial forensic/malware analysis, and containment actions, producing required incident reports and coordinating defensive measures to protect U.S. Army Network and Cyber Operations networks while supporting DCO‑IDM operations.

Overview

The Senior Cyber Incident Handling Analyst performs advanced incident investigation, evidence collection, malware/forensic triage, and defensive action coordination in support of U.S. Army Network and Cyber Operations DCO‑IDM and CSSP mission. The role ensures rapid categorization, containment, reporting, and escalation of cyber incidents across DoDIN‑A and supported networks.
