JOB SUMMARY
Nursing Faculty are responsible for the instruction and supervision of Spalding University School of Nursing students in both the classroom and clinical settings. Responsibilities of nursing faculty include but are not limited to the development and delivery of courses, evaluation of students, curriculum development, committee assignments, and academic advising. Nursing faculty work collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff to support Spalding University’s mission of serving a diverse community of learners. Medical-Surgical experience is required for this position.. Mental Health experience is beneficial but not required.
Salary for this full-time position is $65000 yearly with a comprehensive benefits package which includes medical coverage, 403b, 23 Paid Time Off days, and 21 Holidays. After one year of employment, employees receive 100% tuition remission for Undergraduate and Graduate programs, and spouses/dependents are eligible to receive tuition discounts for Undergraduate programs.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Spalding University Prelicensure Nursing Faculty will:
- Develop, implement, and instruct didactic courses, and clinical as assigned.
- Directly/ indirectly supervise students in diverse clinical settings.
- Evaluate students in the class, lab, and clinical settings.
- Coordinate course, lab, and clinical curricula in collaboration with Spalding University School of Nursing faculty/staff.
- Provide feedback on student’s progress, in a timely manner, to facilitate academic success.
- Maintain student academic records in accordance with program, school of nursing and university policies.
- Plan, evaluate and revise curriculum in accordance with the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) standards/Kentucky Board of Nursing (KBN) regulations.
- Maintain teaching, advising and service responsibilities as outlined in their individual faculty contract.
- Adhere to program, school of nursing, and university policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned by their supervisor.
Qualifications
SKILLS AND EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Spalding University Prelicensure Nursing Faculty will:
- Maintain professional development/ growth according to personal needs and requirements for certifications/ licensure through practice that directly relates to nursing education (i.e.: direct patient care, educational consultation, etc.).
- In accordance with Kentucky Board of Nursing (KBN) regulations (Section 201 KAR 20:310):
“Nurse faculty in a prelicensure registered nurse program shall hold a degree from an accredited college or university, which shall include:

- A master's degree within the discipline of nursing
- The nurse faculty shall document a minimum of two (2) years full time or equivalent experience as a registered nurse within the immediate past five (5) years and shall have and maintain expertise in the clinical or functional area of responsibility.”
Nursing Faculty will maintain an active, unencumbered Kentucky State Nursing License.(includes KBN recognized compact license)
