Schedule Details: Pharmacy residents are expected to be onsite during their rotations with their preceptors. Residents will staff first shift every other weekend. Shift start times can be as early as 0630 and end times as late as 2330. Shifts will typically be eight hours except when on rotation in the emergency department. This position is located primarily at Waukesha Memorial Hospital. 

 

What You Will Do:

Our inpatient pharmacy residents work closely with pharmacist preceptors, other pharmacy staff, providers, nurses, and other healthcare staff to promote safe, evidenced-based, and cost effective medication therapy for our patients.  Decentral pharmacists within our system are heavily involved with patient care from admission through discharge with medication reconciliation, pharmacist driven protocols, daily patient profile reviews and other provided services.  In central pharmacy, we rely on our pharmacists to delegate tasks to our technicians, ensure accuracy of compounded medications, maintain safe medication practices and provide medication support to the system.  Our department is well respected by our healthcare colleagues, which contributes to high quality patient care and The ProHealth Experience.
