Position Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our Buildings Services Branch for Summer 2025 in our Kalamazoo, MI office.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist technical staff on day-to-day projects.
- Assist with design calculations, sketches, technical comparisons, and similar technical work as the assignment requires.
- Confer with engineers about preparing plans.
- Read and review project drawings and plans.
- Use Revit software to draft documents for the project. Work will be performed under the guidance of Engineers.
- Prepares engineering exhibits and technical documents.
- Assist with other duties as requested.
Qualifications and Experience
Required Education, Licensure/Certifications, or Experience:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related program.
- Ability to stay organized and prioritize tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Possess solid problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to work in a high-paced environment.
- Must be proficient or able to learn O365 programs.
- Ability to quickly learn Revit.
Preferred Education, Licensure/Certifications, or Experience:
- Previous internship experience in a MEP firm.
- Understanding of Revit.
Working Environment
This is an on-site position that requires the employee to be in the office in Kalamazoo, MI. The employee performs most of the work in a temperature-controlled office environment.
Additionally, this role may be able to attend a site visit. During site visits, there may be exposure to a variety of environmental conditions such as being outdoors, being in indoor non-temperature-controlled environments, and maneuvering into tight spaces to scan existing heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and piping systems.
Physical Demands
Sitting/Standing: This role is generally sedentary, performing sitting work utilizing technological office equipment, including a laptop, mouse, keyboard, computer monitors, telephones, scanners, and copiers.
Walking: This role requires the ability to move about inside the office to access the required technological equipment. During site visits, this role requires the ability to traverse various project sites and buildings that
