Job Title: Senior Network Engineer & Program Manager (DoD Projects)
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Network Engineer with Program Management experience to support advanced networking initiatives for Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition programs. This dual-role position involves deep technical engineering—focused on Cisco ACI and Catalyst SD-WAN—and program oversight responsibilities, including planning, budgeting, stakeholder management, and delivery execution.
Job Description
The ideal candidate will lead the design and deployment of secure, scalable, and high-performance network architectures, while managing the successful execution of programs supporting Air Force IT initiatives.
Key Responsibilities – Technical:
- Design, implement, and optimize Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) fabrics, including leaf/spine architecture and APIC controller integration.
- Architect and deploy Cisco Catalyst SD-WAN solutions to support secure, flexible, and scalable wide-area networks across DoD environments.
- Conduct compatibility assessments and integrate solutions with existing network infrastructures.
- Develop and maintain network “digital twins” for simulation and performance testing.
- Ensure cybersecurity best practices are integrated into all wired and wireless architectures.
- Prepare detailed technical documentation, including network diagrams, design specs, and SOPs.
- Stay current with emerging network technologies and make strategic recommendations.
Key Responsibilities – Program Management:
- Lead end-to-end program management, including schedule development, cost estimation, resource allocation, and deliverable tracking.
- Act as the primary liaison with DoD stakeholders, ensuring alignment with mission requirements and acquisition timelines.
- Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure consistent program delivery.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks; manage scope changes and issue resolution.
- Prepare and present regular project updates, status reports, and compliance documentation to government stakeholders.
- Supervise junior engineers and technical team members; ensure work aligns with contract and quality standards.
Work Environment:
- This position follows a hybrid schedule, requiring on-site presence in Fairborn, OH, 1 or more days per week, depending on workload and customer needs.
- Remote work is available when approved by the program and customer leadership.
- Candidate must be flexible and responsive to changing mission demands.
