We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) part of the US Army’s Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless and Bell's High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL) program, a next generation stop-fold aircraft.

This position is onsite in Fort Worth, TX.

Instrumentation Labs

The instrumentation labs deliver decision-quality measurements to support various programs. This team collaborates across a wide range of product life cycles to ensure our aircraft operate safely and efficiently. You will work with established platforms like the V-22, certification testing for aircraft such as the 525, new programs like the MV-75, emerging technologies like SPRINT, and groundbreaking development projects shaping the future of aviation. With a balanced blend of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering expertise, we determine the measurement needs of these programs and implement effective solutions to meet them.

What you’ll be doing as a Manager, Instrumentation Labs  

  • Oversee a team of 20 non-exempt engineering technicians, ensuring alignment with program and engineering requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineers and programs to understand measurement needs and ensure accurate execution.
  • Manage staffing, budgeting, estimating, and risk assessment while maintaining clear communication with stakeholders.
  • Foster a safe work environment and ensure compliance within the team.
  • Identify opportunities to improve laboratory operations.
  • Work with Capital to acquire new equipment for enhanced capabilities.

Qualifications

 

Skills You Bring To this Role

  • Experience in flight testing or component testing of aircraft and/or related testing systems. 

  • Must understand Instrumentation Lab processes including strain gages, sensors, signal conditioning, data acquisition, controls systems, and/or calibration.

  • Ability to work well with others in a leadership role achieving successful outcomes for our programs

  • Demonstrated strong leadership capabilities and decision-making skills

  • Experience with budgeting, estimating, capital projects, and inventory

What you need to be successful

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering. Related degrees with relevant experience will be considered.

  • Minimum of 10 years experience in instrumentation or engineering testing required, preferably within the aerospace industry.
