Position Summary

Position responsible for shipping and receiving in dock area OR providing U.S. Mail service.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for unloading trucks and processing packages.
  • Operates forklifts, jacks and other heavy lifting equipment.
  • Prepares manifest for customer pickup of packages.
  • Tracks sales of specified products including dry ice and alcohol.
  • Delivers packages to various Washington University departments and buildings.
  • Utilizes computer-based Bar-Code login and tracking system to ensure proper handling of express, fragile and perishable items.
  • May assist in delivering, processing and collecting United States mail as well as inter-departmental mail and packages for faculty, staff and labs.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
