Tulane University's Program of Nursing seeks experienced and passionate nursing professionals to join our team as part-time adjuncts or clinical nursing faculty. These part-time faculty positions are located in the New Orleans Metropolitan area.
As a part-time adjunct or clinical nursing faculty member, you will provide didactic or clinical instruction and mentorship to nursing students in hospitals or other settings. You will have a vital role in teaching or facilitating learning experiences that align with the curriculum and support students' development as competent, compassionate, and patient-centered nursing professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and guide students in didactic or clinical settings, ensuring safe and effective patient care.
- Demonstrate professional conduct and model best practices in nursing care.
- Provide instruction on nursing skills, procedures, and clinical judgment in various healthcare environments.
- Assess student performance, provide constructive feedback, and complete evaluations in accordance with curriculum and standards.
- Collaborate with lead faculty and clinical site staff to ensure a positive learning experience.
- Ensure compliance with national, state, and program policies and procedures, as applicable to the teaching site.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, student progress, and competency evaluations.
Schedule and Hours:
- Part-time, flexible schedule based on course requirements or clinical site availability and program needs.
- Clinical teaching may include shifts on weekdays, evenings, and/or weekends.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Nursing (preferred) or BSN.
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in Louisiana.
- Minimum of two years of relevant clinical experience (hospital, clinic, or community health preferred).
- Previous teaching or precepting experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
