University Physicians Association is seeking qualified applicants for a full-time Scheduler / Patient Service Representative (PSR) position for a UNIVERSITY HEART SURGEONS, a specialty surgical office located within the UT Medical Center in Knoxville, TN.
Job duties include:
- Scheduling outpatient diagnostic testing and procedures
- Precertification of testing and procedures
- Scheduling outgoing referrals to other specialties
- Appropriately documents authorizations and appointments in the patient record
- Enters signed and faxed orders and scans them to the patient record
- Communicates with provider regarding insurance denials or other issues
- Operates and utilizes the medical center’s scheduling program
- Provide patients with necessary instructions for scheduled appointments
- Answers phones and EMR messages in a timely manner
- Works well with provider and staff
- Other duties as assigned

Requirements
Clinical background experience with medical terminology and must possess a strong knowledge of medical insurance
6-months to 1-year previous medical experience.
Strong communication skills, attention to detail, time management, and organization is critical to the overall success of the candidate.
