Advisor, Community Impact - MS (P3)

Save the Children is seeking an Advisor, Community Impact with in-depth knowledge and experience in utilizing community mobilization techniques to solve complex systemic problems. In this role, you will be responsible for fostering the results-based community impact approach in rural communities and within our Education, Hunger and Resilience (EHR) team. You will serve as a thought partner, practitioner, and subject matter expert, collaborating with national and state programmatic colleagues on strategic thinking and practical applications of best practices. You will report directly to the Lead Advisor, Community impact, and will work collaboratively with Community Impact colleagues across the country to help move the needle on kindergarten readiness and grade level proficiency in reading and math for all children in rural America.

What You’ll Be Doing (Essential Duties)

Support development of diverse, cross-sector coalitions in each Community Impact community (40%)

• Build and maintain strong relationships with state-based community impact staff.
• Provide coaching and strategic assistance to state-based community impact staff and help assess community requests for financial investment.
• Support community impact lead associates with TTA and advising on the CI approach.
• Align national partner training and technical assistance to strengthen local results practice.
• Ensure coalitions have mechanisms for tracking performance and progress.
• Build a community of practice across the rural community impact network. Lift up examples and stories of bright spots, promising practices and lessons learned to support the amplification of learning across the team, the network and the broader field.

Manage internal results infrastructure to support Community Impact approaches (20%)

• Help ensure accountability for results – particularly for increasing measures of kindergarten readiness and early-grade reading/math.
• Establish and manage system (e.g., Teams pages; SharePoint site) for managing documentation of work sessions (e.g., agendas, summaries, work products, action commitments).
• Establish and manage system, process for action plan creation and ongoing refinement.
• Work with lead associates and other state colleagues to monitor progress and develop TTA support plans for Tier 3 strategic initiatives.
• Maintain a set of resources designed to facilitate results-based community impact work, and provide training and technical assistance on resources as needed.
• Lead on state community impact strategy (e.g., expansion, state/regional partnerships, investment strategy).
• Provide investment guidance and recommendations related to Tier 3 work.

Ensure integration of Community Impact approaches within the broader Save the Children U.S. Programs strategy (20%)

• Serve as national liaison between Save the Children program staff and partners and community coalitions.
• Align with Community-based Services team and help integrate results-based community impact practices into its work.
• Work closely with other leaders in Education, Protection & Resilience to establish and maintain alignment of Save the Children resources and efforts with community impact coalitions.
• Work with Monitoring, Evaluation, Research and Learning team to ensure data collection, analysis, sense making and learning contribute to state and national refinement of community impact strategy.
