About the role

The Main Bank Cashier – CM is responsible for the secure handling, distribution, and reconciliation of all currency and cash equivalents within the resort’s Cash Operations Department. This position ensures the efficient flow of funds in and out of the main vault to support casino gaming activities and maintains accountability in compliance with internal controls and regulatory requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Maintains full responsibility for all funds issued and received during shift in accordance with internal controls and Gaming Commission standards.
  • Supports daily gaming and resort operations by processing, tracking, and verifying the movement of funds and cash equivalents through the vault.
  • Verifies and processes currency exchanges and fund transfers at vault windows.
  • Accepts, verifies, and reconciles returned cashier drawers; performs end-of-shift counts and identifies overages or shortages.
  • Secures currency for bank deposits and assists with the transfer of funds as directed.
  • Maintains accountability for counter checks, including redemption, consolidation, and secure storage.
  • Ensures accuracy and security of the Player’s Bank and related records.
  • Functions as a floor Cashier when assigned, including guest-facing responsibilities.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but may provide guidance or support to other team members.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Strong accounting, reconciliation, and money-handling skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow internal controls and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Basic computer literacy and willingness to learn proprietary systems.
  • Must be proficient with a 10-key calculator.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of integrity.
  • Commitment to excellent guest service and team member relations.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Additional coursework in accounting, finance, or business is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in cash handling, preferably in a bank, casino, or similar high-security environment.
  • Experience balancing large cash drawers or vaults in a high-volume operation preferred.
  • Knowledge of internal controls, transaction accuracy, and reconciliation procedures.
  • Familiarity with financial systems, cash counters, and related equipment.
  • Prior experience in a regulated environment such as gaming or banking is strongly preferred.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATES, REGISTRATIONS:

Must have successfully completed a background check and obtained a gaming license issued by the Morongo Gaming Agency, as required. 

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Must be able to read and interpret documents in English, such as instructions, guidelines, policies, and procedures. Must also be able to communicate clearly and effectively with team members, management, and guests.

  • Lifting and Carrying: Frequently lifts and carries coin bags, currency boxes, and supplies weighing up to 30 pounds; occasional use of carts or assistance for heavier loads.
  • Manual Dexterity: Regularly uses hands and fingers to count large volumes of currency, operate cash counting machines, and manage transaction documentation and system inputs with speed and accuracy.
  • Mobility: Frequently moves within the secured main bank area; may need to walk short distances to deliver or receive funds or complete verifications within the vault or cage areas.
  • Stationary Work: Frequently remains standing for extended periods at workstations while performing counting, verification, and balancing procedures; occasional seated work when preparing reports or completing administrative tasks.
