Business Systems Analyst I

Job Summary

Conducts business process analyses and needs assessments in an effort to align information technology solutions with Company initiatives. Writes, tests, and modifies programming codes as necessary.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Consults with key stakeholders to identify and document business needs, objectives, operational procedures, problems, requirements, and security needs.
• Supports the identification assessment and resolution of complex issues and escalates them appropriately
• Assists in identifying and prioritizing opportunities to streamline business systems processes by supporting the analysis of current workflows.
• Provides technical support in identifying and evaluating existing systems and procedures. Assists in gathering data, documenting processes, and understanding system functionalities.
• Assists in writing and maintaining documentation for functional specifications of new and modified business systems.  Supports by tracking changes and updates in system specifications and helps in preparing basic documentation.
• Assists in the delivery of system solutions, including configuration, testing, deployment, and validation. Performs routine tasks that contribute to the setup and maintenance of systems, as well as participating in basic testing and validation activities under close supervision.
• Assists in consulting and coordinating with team members on the design and development and configuration of programming systems and automated business systems. Contributes to coding efforts under close supervision and participating in the initial phases of system development projects.
• Implements plans to test business and functional processes during system development and quality assurance testing.
• Assists with developing, preparing, and conducting training on computer hardware and software usage.
• Assists in tracking and documenting changes to functional and business specifications. Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure that minor specification updates are properly logged and communicated across teams. Ensures adherence to documentation standards and provides support in maintaining updated records of business requirements.
• Ensures that user materials are clear, concise, and aligned with established templates and standards. Gathers feedback from users to improve the quality of documentation.
• Assists in preparing training materials and helps conduct basic training sessions for personnel on the usage of computer hardware and software.  Ensures training content is accurate and easy to follow. Provides support during training sessions and helps answer simple user questions.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Intermediate knowledge of applicable reporting and transactional applications.
• Intermediate knowledge of relational database and client-server concepts.
• Basic knowledge of scripting to automate processes.
• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Access, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to analyze complex technical information.
• Ability to learn new technology systems, methods, and processes.
• Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form.
• Ability to research information, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
