GENERAL FUNCTION: Work in active partnership with the Fraud Leadership Team to ensure the effective training and development of newly hired and current analysts. Facilitate the Change Management program by tracking tasks, assisting stakeholders, and addressing customer complaints related to fraud functions. Report findings to leadership and update processes to minimize negative customer impact. Works both independently and within teams to conduct complex data analysis and identify, assess, and mitigate financial crimes risk. Execute policy and procedures to meet the bank's compliance with laws, regulations, and industry standards. Responsible and accountable for risk by openly exchanging ideas and opinions, elevating concerns, and personally following policies and procedures as defined. Accountable for always doing the right thing for customers and colleagues, and ensures that actions and behaviors drive a positive customer experience. While operating within the Banks risk appetite, achieves results by consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Understands the impact of organizational changes. Communicates and facilitates those changes through the Fraud Change Management program. Champions change management exercises with staff and oversees any new training related to new organizational system, process, and policy/procedural changes while meeting SLA.
- Lead, facilitate, and develop training of fraud analysts, as business need dictates
- Address customer complaints related to fraud actions/policies promptly and effectively. Analyze complaint data to identify trends and areas for improvement. Report findings to leadership with recommendations for process updates to reduce negative customer impact.
- Contributes to Fraud policies, procedures, job aids, and risk assessments as required, including the ownership of/facilitating of periodic/needed updates.
- Evaluates system activity and generated alerts in accordance with Fraud Prevention expectations.
- Ability to analyze Fraud related activity.
- Makes appropriate risk decisions related to fraud risk.
- Appropriately escalates matters associated with fraud activity.
- Works with various business units to understand the Fraud alerted activity and to ensure compliance with laws.
- Possesses working knowledge of industry trends.
- Ability to complete assigned work in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with internal and external customers on Fraud related matters.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Maintains a strong comprehension of Bancorp policies and procedures and regulatory requirements related to fraud.
- Performs required tasks with minimal supervision.
- Contributes to team meetings with peers and management.
- Maintains knowledge of current and emerging issues and risks in the compliance and regulatory environment.
- Identifies areas of process improvement to increase departmental efficiencies.
- Contributes to projects designed to improve the quality or efficiency of work produced.
- Maintains strong working relationships with all business lines and support groups.
- Prepares and manages communications with business lines, support groups, and external parties to ensure timely receipt of the requested information.
- Conducts complex data analysis and document findings appropriately.
- Assumes team leadership roles and responsibilities as required by management.
- Key contributor to special projects for related areas of expertise.
- Provides data and analytical support to business partners.
BANK SECRECY ACT REQUIREMENTS: Responsible for adhering to the reporting and record keeping requirements of the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering rules and regulations, complying with economic sanctions by prohibiting transactions as specified by the U.S’s Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) and Canada’s Office of the Superintendent of Financial Institutions (OSFI), following the bank's customer identification program (CIP) rules, observing all Bank policies and procedures relating to BSA, OFAC, CIP, and related acts, and participation in ongoing related training.
