Staff Accountant/Payroll

I. Position Summary: Applies principles of accounting and statistical analysis in month end close process. Prepares financial and operating reports from statistical data. Maintains monthly general ledger reconciliations, various expense analysis and other financial statement ad-hoc reports. The Staff Accountant/Payroll will be the primary backup to the Payroll Analyst for bi-weekly payroll processing of payroll data. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. Performs established procedures in accordance with GAAP and payroll standards and hospital policies.

II. Qualifications:
A. Education & Training: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Accounting.

B. Experience: Two (2) years staff accountant with payroll analyst experience or comparable accounting/payroll position.

C. Required Certification/Registration/Licensure: None

D. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge of accepted accounting practices and principles; knowledge of applicable laws and regulations; knowledge and experience of related computer applications; attention to detail and accuracy; planning and organizing skills; strong communication skills; problem analysis skills; stress tolerance.
