Job Description
Green Mountain Energy is looking for a driven sales Team Lead to manage face to face customer acquisitions in the territory of hiring. Sales activations are performed in nationally known retailers, farmers markets, events, and other locations as they arise.
The Team Lead will work closely with a recruiter and area manager to build and maintain their team of sales representatives. The position comprises of in-field work with direct reports, remote administrative duties, and occasional office duties that include regular team meetings. The chosen candidate will enjoy a competitive salary, commission structure, and annual bonus.
Job Summary
- Work constructively alongside all team members to supervise, motivate, and coach a team of sales agents
- Be accountable for sales team delivering consistent sales messaging and brand representation
- Balance administrative and field duties
- Ensure clear communication to in accordance with expectations
- Work atypical schedules to oversee sales agent activities during evenings and weekends
- Help build and maintain partner relationships
- Train new and existing sales agents
- Position reports to Area Sales Manager
Essential Duties/Responsibilities
- Ensure safety for all team members
- Provide sales coaching, motivation, and training to sales team
- Achieve sales forecast and quality goals
- Manage agent tenure through facilitating employee growth
- Review daily reports and identify performance issues
- Improve employee performance and sales processes
- Communicate with Area Sales Manager and other internal stakeholders as needed
- Attend meetings and actively participate
- Lead by example
- Maintain effective communication across teams including expectations, policies, and procedures
- Produce and maintain a shift schedule to ensure opportunities are staffed appropriately
- Verify and approve payroll hours and expense reports
- Track inventory and collect materials as needed
- Timely submit required reports with an emphasis on quality and accuracy
- Regularly communicate with employees during their shifts
- Ensure compliance with the approved commission and bonus plans
- Work with stakeholders across departments to support sales efforts
