Purpose

The Administrative Assistant for the Center for Water and the Environment is a 19-hour per week position that supports the operations of the Administrative Team on the J.J. Pickle Campus in north Austin. This role will assist with purchasing, service center invoicing, payment vouchers, financial reports, and general office operations.

Responsibilities

  • Process and track ProCard purchases and UT Market purchases. Create Service Center Invoices and process payment vouchers.

  • Assist with financial reports and General Data Entry.  Performs other related job duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma and five (5) years of clerical experience or a Bachelor's Degree and one (1) year of experience at the Administrative Assistant level. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to learn quickly and be flexible.  Ability to undertake and complete tasks with minimal supervision and exhibit individual initiative in meeting the functions of the position

Preferred Qualifications

More than two (2) years of experience at the Administrative Assistant level. More than one (1) year as an Administrative Associate. Experience using the UT mainframe accounting system (Define, FRMS), Experience processing purchases at UT Austin

Hourly Rate

$25.00

Working Conditions

  • Attire: Business Casual

  • Standard Office Environment, Use of manual dexterity, Repetitive use of keyboard at a workstation

Work Shift

  • Hours per week - 19

  • This position may be eligible for a hybrid (on-campus and off-campus) work based on business needs and at the discretion of the supervisor. Flexible hours -may work between the hours of 7 am to 6 pm, M-F.
