The person selected for this position will be building our qualifications and expertise in this emerging technical area for iDE that sits at a critical intersection of our WASH and Agriculture impacts, building on initiatives piloted by Global Programs. The Senior Manager will provide oversight on newly funded global Nutrition projects, coordinating efforts, budget management, and technical integration and sharing across the country portfolio to ensure that iDE is providing impactful work to achieve our moonshot.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

PROJECT MANAGEMENT 

  • Support in the design of project activities in coordination with country offices of operation, private sector partners and government/non-government stakeholders to drive and deliver project outcomes and targets
  • Regularly review performance and work with country implementing teams to ensure projects are on track to achieve deliverables by identifying challenges and problem solving 
  • Coordinate with Fund Development on donor communication and reporting, including scheduled donor reporting and ad hoc information requests 
  • Coordinate with Operations for regular monitoring of spending against budgets and adjustment of spending
  • Coordinate with the Operations team to ensure project operations and finances are managed in accordance with iDE policies and project contractual obligations, rules and procedures 

STRATEGY 

  • In close collaboration with other Program teams, provide support for the strategic vision for iDE’s Nutrition work, identifying iDE’s unique value-add and strategic opportunities for impact, and ensuring competitive positioning within the sector. This includes building on early successes and learnings to expand iDE’s Nutrition portfolio in key technical areas like nutrition marketing and multi-sectoral programming aligned with the Infinite impact model
  • Engage with global teams to collect stories around the impact of iDE’s nutrition work and share them with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide contributions to iDE’s overall Infinite impact model, strategic planning and execution processes and progress towards achievement of the moonshot and associated strategic plan

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE 

  • Work closely with the other sectors within Programs, particularly WASH, Climate, Resilience, Agriculture and GESI in order to develop effective multidisciplinary approaches to development
  • Engage closely with the MERL team to develop and monitor Nutrition indicators - including the development of key performance indicators to ensure quality and consistency across the global portfolio of work 
  • Provide a review of historical and current projects from a Nutrition perspective, identifying strengths and gaps
  • Work with country programs to support project design at all stages of development
  • Provide technical support to Nutrition proposal and project design
  • Work with country teams to monitor progress against strategic and project-specific Nutrition targets
  • Work with country offices to ensure donor reporting consistently meets quality and messaging standards

COMMUNICATIONS & KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT

  • Disseminate relevant Nutrition programming information to staff through regular briefing notes and updates (with links to more detailed sources)
  • Make all Nutrition impact results, reports, and knowledge products readily accessible to staff through iDE’s Salesforce communities sites and technical summaries 
  • Support iDE’s Communications & Marketing department in developing products related to Nutrition efforts including tactic reports
  • Promote iDE’s thought leadership by communicating findings externally through strategic publications, presentations at conferences, meetings, and networking
  • Support internal discussions among iDE’s leaders on what Nutrition results and learnings, both internally and externally, mean for our global technical strategies in Nutrition
