About the role

Overview

Business Intelligence Data Analyst: this role acts as the initial Point of contact for internal NextGen EHR reporting requests, managing the Business Intelligence reporting queue and escalating tickets as appropriate. 

Responsibilities

  • Using SQL to create/modify queries, views, and procedures to create and modify reports.
  • Initial Point of contact for internal NextGen reporting requests. Manages Business Intelligence reporting queue and escalates tickets as appropriate. Completes assignment of tickets in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Assist Administrative and Clinical personnel with end user training on processing reports, inclusive of preparing job aides and technical assistance documents. Also conducts live training sessions.
  • Supports various departments in critical analysis of reporting outcomes.
  • Works in conjunction with agency departments to enhance reporting tools and capabilities for improved quality and fiscally sound outcomes.
  • Completes assignment of tickets in a timely and accurate manner.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Communicates high-level analysis and detail to assist departments in making business decisions.
  • Responds to requests from departments for reporting needs and technical assistance within expected timeframes.
  • Ability to assess reporting needs and make recommendations, considering end user experience and proper use of the NextGen EHR and workflows, including cross-department collaboration when needed.
  • Maintains and executes knowledge of SQL as evidenced through development and design of reporting tools.
  • Produces job aides and other materials to be utilized by various departments to assist in managing and operating the SQL reporting tools.

Qualifications

  • Strong experience with writing, modifying, and troubleshooting SQL.
  • Expertise in using Excel and/or Power BI to present data in both pivot tables and graphs.
  • Experience using an Electronic Health Record; NextGen preferred.
  • Experience in assisting others in a supportive or training role
  • Solution-oriented thinker
  • Able to work independently with limited direction.
  • Comfortable facilitating meetings (in person and virtual).
  • Team and customer service oriented.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field, preferred.
