Job Description:

The Human Resources Lead manages human resources functions for Control areas, including Risk, Compliance, Audit and AML, including the administration of policies and practices. The Human Resources Lead manages employment and employee relations activities within assigned area. The job ensures compliance with human resource policies, rules, regulations, etc. and supports the business in achieving their goals.

Depth & Scope:

  • Answers management and employee questions and addresses employee concerns from assigned area
  • Addresses human resource concerns of management within assigned area
  • Consults with other Human Resources Managers to resolve Company Wide issues
  • Manages department budget within designated region
  • Manages human resources functions for assigned geographical area to ensure compliance with Company policies and applicable federal, state, and local regulations
  • Manages employment function in assigned area to ensure proper staffing levels are maintained
  • Utilizes a variety of recruiting sources and partners with community organizations to source candidates
  • Manages a team of HR leaders and business partners
  • Assists in the development of Company human resource policy and provides leadership in the implementation and practice of human resource policies within assigned area
  • Manages employee relations for assigned area and makes recommendations for modification of Company policies, or the establishment of new policy to address issues discovered within assigned area
  • Serves as internal consultant to executive management to ensure Human Resources policies and practice support Corporate business objectives
  • Manages Company participation in Affirmative Action and other related programs
  • Disseminates information from Benefits and Compensation functions to management and employees within assigned area
  • May conduct training sessions
  • Manages a specific Human Resources function Companywide such as recruitment/retention, policies, or operations


Education & Experience:

  • 4 year degree required; Graduate degree preferred
  • 7-10 Years of related experience
  • In depth knowledge of Federal and State employment laws, Benefit and retirement programs, and Compensation principles is required
  • Strong interpersonal, counselling, change management, and coaching skills are required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient PC skills
  • Leverages deep subject matter expertise to develop and deploy a vision and align others to that vision
  • Be known for providing creative thought leadership while also listening and engaging others to provide input in the shaping of that vision
  • Develops and maintains relationships with key business leaders and other stakeholders internal and external to the organization
  • Experience in the effective execution of change management strategies and processes in a complex, multi-faceted business
  • Identifies, mitigate and report on risk issues per enterprise policy / guidelines and ensure appropriate escalation processes are followed
  • Works closely with key business leaders and reports to optimize TD Banks resources and leverage TD's operating model to maximize efficiency, effectiveness and scale
  • Builds for the future and provides people leadership; oversees people plans and strategies to attract, motivate and retain a highly diverse, qualified and engaged human resource base to fulfill current and future business needs
  • Superb executive presence and honed management skills, adept at interacting with diverse groups of internal clients, coaching and motivating a team, and interacting with senior executives of a large organization
  • Strong ability to attract, inspire and bring out the best in tea
