Job Description

As a Security Guard - Retail Customer Patrol in New York, NY, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Retail/Malls and more .

As a Patrol Unarmed Officer with Allied Universal, you will be an integral part of the team at a bustling retail location. Your primary responsibilities will include conducting regular patrols throughout the premises, maintaining a visible presence to help to deter security-related incidents, and supporting a welcoming environment for all guests and staff. You will interact with the public, provide exceptional customer service, and communicate clearly with both visitors and team members. This role offers the opportunity to be proactive in identifying potential security-related concerns and responding promptly to any incidents or requests for assistance. What You’ll Do:

• Use our proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites
• Support operations across a range of environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education
• Receive site-specific training and guidance from experienced teams
• Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service
• Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise

Responsibilities:

• Provide customer service by following security-related procedures, site-specific policies and/or responding appropriately to emergency situations.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner.
• Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the retail location and its perimeter to help to deter unwanted activity and provide a visible presence.
• Observe and report any unusual activities or incidents to management and/or local authorities as directed.
• Assist with access control by monitoring entry and exit points within the location.
• Support loss prevention efforts by maintaining awareness of surroundings and reporting any suspicious behavior or circumstances.
• Communicate professionally with clients, visitors and employees to promote a positive environment.

Minimum Requirements:

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Possession of a state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
• A valid guard card or license is preferred.
• Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.
• Loss prevention experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
