Your Opportunity
Identity and Access Management (IAM) is essential for every service at EBSCO Information Systems (EIS), ensuring secure access to resources across our platform. As an intern with the API Wizards team, you’ll gain hands-on experience managing access to one of our premier services, EBSCO Discovery Service API via AWS API Gateways and other supporting infrastructure.
In this role, you’ll work on setting up and configuring internal authentication infrastructure and implementing secure access control for APIs. Throughout the software development lifecycle—from design and development to testing and deployment—you’ll collaborate with experienced software engineers, learning best practices in security, automation, and cloud-native development. This is a unique opportunity to deepen your understanding of secure, scalable API architecture within a collaborative and innovative environment.
What You'll Do
- Contribute to the implementation of authentication services at EBSCO, including external API gateways, internal APIs, website development, and other AWS infrastructure.
- Work with an agile software development team and mentors to complete feature work and practice software engineering best practices.
- Create and update unit, integration, and e2e tests for software.
- Perform bug fixes and continuous operations improvements to existing code.
- Break down complex software engineering features into digestible pieces of work.
- Live the principles of the Agile methodology and SAFe framework
About You
- Working toward a bachelor's degree in a computer science field or related experience.
- Basic knowledge of Software Design, Algorithms, Programming, and Data Structures.
- Experience building software applications in a class, as a personal hobby, as part of an open-source project.
- Experience with source code management tools such as GitHub.
- Familiarity with coding languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, C#.

Pay Range
