Toast is looking for a Senior Full-Stack, Backend Focused Software Engineer to take responsibility for building new, innovative solutions to expand how Guests interact and pay digitally with restaurants. As well as providing a cutting edge point of sale system for restaurants, Toast processes billions of dollars of payments through consumer experiences. We need your help to improve our platform and add the next generation of digital restaurant payment experiences both inside and outside of restaurants. As a member of the Toast Pay team, you’ll get to play a key role in shaping and guiding the team that’s focused on building a consumer network through capturing payments.

About this roll* (Responsibilities)

• Work with fellow engineers, product managers, designers, and user researchers to build amazing features with a goal of increasing our consumer footprint at Toast
• Flex your full-stack muscles with challenging end-to-end tasks in a supportive, collaborative team environment
• Ship code that has a massive impact on the growth and strategy of Toast
• Experiment directly with Guests and Restaurants to test new dining experiences
• Champion best practices for development, deployment and quality life-cycles

Do you have the right ingredients*? (Requirements)

• Experience working in a microservice architecture with either Java/Kotlin
• Track record of delivering high impact features
• You know how to monitor, troubleshoot, and improve system performance through logging and metrics
• You’re hungry to learn more and willing to take on challenging projects if it means you’ll be a better engineer at the end

The base salary range for this role is listed below. The starting salary will be determined based on skills and experience. In addition to base salary, our total rewards components include cash compensation (overtime, bonus/commissions if eligible), equity, and benefits.Pay Range$127,000—$203,000 USD
