Job Summary
The position is for I&C and Electrical Co-Op in the Maintenance department at the Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant in Glen Rose, Texas and will tentatively run September thru December 2024.Job Description
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
- Must maintain an environment conducive to personnel, plant, and public safety.
- Employ a high standard of quality in work they perform.
- Assist in the safe performance of preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment and systems.
- Adhere to procedures and guidelines.
- Report to work place with the right attitude and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
- Promotes teamwork and is open and responsive to new ideas.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Enrolled in a two-year degree program (Instrument and Control, Electrical, Electronics); at least two semesters completed satisfactorily
- Self-starter with a driven attitude.
- Good technical writing skills.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- Basic PC skills.
- Professional work ethic.
- Strong desire to learn and ability to acquire new skills.
- Able to apply knowledge to new situations.
- Has confidence in their ability to make the right decisions, or if unsure asking for directions before proceeding.
- Ability to adapt and excel in a strict compliance based environment.
Physical/Mental Demands & Working Conditions:
- Occasional Long/Irregular Hours.
- Work around energized (mostly low voltage) and in-service plant equipment.
- Occasional lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs; occasional climbing with body harness.
- Both indoor and outdoor industrial settings.
- Use of a computer terminal and/or telephone.
