Job Summary

The position is for I&C and Electrical Co-Op in the Maintenance department at the Comanche Peak Nuclear Power Plant in Glen Rose, Texas and will tentatively run September thru December 2024.

Job Description

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

• Must maintain an environment conducive to personnel, plant, and public safety.
• Employ a high standard of quality in work they perform.
• Assist in the safe performance of preventive and corrective maintenance on plant equipment and systems.
• Adhere to procedures and guidelines.
• Report to work place with the right attitude and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
• Promotes teamwork and is open and responsive to new ideas.
   

Minimum Qualifications:

• Enrolled in a two-year degree program (Instrument and Control, Electrical, Electronics); at least two semesters completed satisfactorily
• Self-starter with a driven attitude.
• Good technical writing skills.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Basic PC skills.
• Professional work ethic.
• Strong desire to learn and ability to acquire new skills.
• Able to apply knowledge to new situations.
• Has confidence in their ability to make the right decisions, or if unsure asking for directions before proceeding.
• Ability to adapt and excel in a strict compliance based environment.

Physical/Mental Demands & Working Conditions:

• Occasional Long/Irregular Hours.
• Work around energized (mostly low voltage) and in-service plant equipment.
• Occasional lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs; occasional climbing with body harness.
• Both indoor and outdoor industrial settings.
• Use of a computer terminal and/or telephone.
