Employment Type: Full Time
Location: Oyster Bay, New York

Description
Are you ready to take the next step in your veterinary career? At Oyster Bay Animal Hospital, a progressive GP practice, we’re looking for a dynamic leader—ideally a Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT)—who can combine strong practice management skills with hands-on veterinary knowledge to keep our hospital thriving. This is a unique opportunity for someone who loves both leading people and supporting pets on the floor. As our Practice Manager, you’ll partner closely with our Managing Veterinarian (MDVM) to ensure smooth, profitable, and compassionate operations. We prefer an LVT for this position because we value a leader who can lead and manage the hospital while still putting their LVT skills to use. You’ll play a key role in building a positive team culture, driving practice growth, and occasionally rolling up your sleeves to assist with patient care.
What You’ll Love About This Role:
- A chance to blend leadership and clinical work—help manage the hospital while still putting your LVT skills to use.
- Leading, coaching, and developing a collaborative, motivated, and skilled team.
- Partnering with our Regional Operations Manager and MDVM to set long-term goals and shape the future of the practice.
- Overseeing key hospital operations such as payroll, inventory, compliance (OSHA/DEA), and financial performance.
- Driving client retention and satisfaction by fostering exceptional customer service.
- Contributing to a supportive environment where pets receive top-quality care and staff can truly grow.
You Will Bring To The Table:
- Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) preferred—but not required.
- Previous leadership, supervisory, or practice management experience (3+ years ideal).
- Strong communication skills and emotional intelligence—you know how to motivate, support, and guide a team.
- A passion for client service and patient care with a “lead by example” mentality.
- Business acumen and comfort managing budgets, payroll, and practice operations.
- Tech-savviness with Microsoft Office and practice management software.
- Flexibility, organization, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Benefits
- 401(k) with company match
- Health, dental, and vision insurance
- Paid Time Off (PTO)
- Employee discounts for your own furry family members
- Ongoing training, mentorship, and career development opportunities
