Department Overview
The South Bay Delivery team is a new organization leading the creation and execution of breakthrough outcomes in serving the South Bay. Our scope requires leadership in bringing several internal and external pieces together to achieve ambitious net-zero goals. This work is highly cross-functional by nature and requires extensive collaboration across PG&E, including EP&S, UPI, Local Customer Engagement, Strategy, Finance, Legal, and Regulatory Affairs organizations; and with external partners, including the City of San Jose, regulators, vendors, financial partners, and stakeholders. The Principal Decarbonization Product Manager will develop and own product strategy and roadmaps required to execute an ambitious goal to be net-zero by 2030 as a proof point in San Jose for PG&Es long-term decarbonization goals.
The Net Zero San Jose team will oversee the identification, assessment, prioritization, and reduction of emissions related to PG&E’s activities and products including building and transportation electrification, process optimization for carbon reduction, and customer enablement in residential, small business, commercial, and industrial markets. Each Principal on the team will be accountable for delivering and quantifying benefits associated with all work and leading cross-functional initiatives with identified departments, partners, and industry organizations.
Position Summary
The successful candidate will develop and lead a product strategy/customer engagement vision and multi-year roadmap to align carbon reductions with customer needs, partner viability, market potential, technology, and regulatory policy to develop and execute business actions that deliver innovative carbon reductions. These roles will provide actionable product strategies and launch market ready tactics to engage and benefit all customers in San Jose while reducing local carbon emissions.
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed between the entry point and the middle of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E’s discretionary incentive compensation programs.
A reasonable salary range is:
Bay Area Minimum: $140,000.00
Bay Area Maximum: $238,000.00
Job Responsibilities
- Supports development of climate change strategy, transition planning.
- Establish intentional relationships and partnering with internal and external stakeholders, including academia, technology companies, energy companies, and others.
- Recommend strategic partnerships for approval by governance committee with standard contracts and MOUs.
- Articulate product/service/process goals and mission to key stakeholder teams to assure co-development that solves customer, employee, and utility pain points.
- Test product or service offerings in the market (or in simulation). Co-create and iterate using design thinking and stakeholder feedback.
