Industrial Maintenance Helper

Position Overview

Novelis – Richmond has an exciting opportunity for an Industrial Maintenance Helper. Offering a competitive wage of $27.11 per hour.  The purpose of this role is to assist Maintenance Technicians in the repair and preventive maintenance of plant equipment.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities Include:

• Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with Novelis EHS standards and policies, all state and federal regulations, and company policies and procedures.
• Assist Maintenance Technicians in the fabrication, installation, modification, maintenance and repair of a variety of electrical and mechanical devices, systems, and facilities of varying design or complexity.
• Perform required preventative/predictive maintenance.
• Use non-industrial machine shop equipment when applicable
• Assist with prep and clean up for maintenance jobs
• Support and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain accurate, legible and timely records by completing paperwork as required.
• Display initiative and complete tasks with a sense of urgency.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude and have the ability to work in a team environment.
• Provide support as required to the operation by performing other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D
• Industrial maintenance experience preferred or have an equivalent education in a trade school or apprenticeship.
• Must be able to work rotating shifts, night shifts, weekends, and overtime as required by operational needs

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in operating shop equipment
• Working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics
