Technical Marketing Architect

Rubrik is seeking an experienced Technical Marketing Architect passionate about quality content in multiple forms, such as technical presentations, demos, videos, and more. You will collaborate with Product Management, Engineering, Marketing, and Sales Engineering to help drive and shape the future adoption of Rubrik products and services.

 

What You’ll be Doing:

• You should become the ultimate authority of the Rubrik portfolio with a designated focus on certain products or features.
• You understand complementary and competitive products that could be encountered in real-world on-premises, hybrid-cloud, and multi-cloud environments.
• You understand the customer mindset and can create compelling demos and use cases to showcase the technical and business value of Rubrik.
• You work closely with peers in Product Marketing, Corporate Marketing, Product Management, Technical Product Management, Engineering, and Sales Engineering (SE) to create technical material for public consumption. This would involve technical slide creation, writing white papers, video creation, and more.
• You work with account teams, customers, and partners to help them understand product capabilities, present design solutions, and provide inputs on market requirements for future products and software releases.
• Occasional travel to industry conferences, headquarters visits, press events, user group meetings, and other influencer activities as a subject matter expert (SME) on data security.
• Report to the Senior Manager, Technical Marketing.

 

Experience You’ll Need:

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
• Passionate commitment to quality and success.
• 7+ years in technical marketing, presales, consulting, or similar roles.
• Ability to pair strategic technical thinking with business awareness.
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and independent decision-making skills.
• Proven ability to present in public settings to varied audiences.
• Proven technical writing ability.
• Strong technical knowledge within the data center, cloud, and security ecosystems such as vSphere, AHV, Hyper-v, AWS, Azure, Cisco, Netapp, and others.
• Strong technical foundation and hands-on experience with storage essentials: file, block, object, IO patterns, storage networking, RAID, etc.
• Knowledge of DevOps-focused tools: Ansible, DSC, Chef, Puppet or other automation tools, REST APIs.
• Experience with video editing software such as Camtasia, Adobe Creative Suite, and other demo production software such as Storylane or Reprise.
• Located in North America with an ability to travel up to 30%.

Nice if you have:

• BS/Masters in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related degree or experience.
• Public cloud experience - AWS and/or Azure preferred.
• Database admin experience (MS SQL, Oracle, Postgres, MySQL).
• Security background (CISSP or similar experience).
• Background in working in multi-tenant or SaaS provider environments.
