Performance Testing QA Engineer for Sora Union

We’re looking for an experienced Performance Testing QA Engineer to join our team of diverse and experienced professionals and help expand it.  

A Performance Testing QA Engineer specializes in evaluating the speed, scalability, stability, and responsiveness of applications under various workloads. They design and execute performance tests to identify bottlenecks, ensure systems meet performance requirements, and validate application behavior under stress, load, or spike conditions. This role bridges manual and automation testing, requiring technical proficiency and analytical skills to optimize system performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and execute performance test scripts to assess application performance metrics (e.g., response time, throughput, latency).
• Identify performance bottlenecks in applications, APIs, or databases and provide actionable recommendations.
• Simulate real-world user scenarios (e.g., peak traffic, stress conditions) using performance testing tools.
• Collaborate with developers, DevOps, and system architects to address performance issues.
• Generate detailed performance test reports and present findings to stakeholders.
• Integrate performance tests into CI/CD pipelines for continuous performance validation.
• Monitor system performance in production environments using APM tools.

Ideally, you’ll have:

• Computer science or math degree with at least 5-7 years in a professional QA role
•  2–3 years of hands-on performance testing experience.
• At least 1–2 projects involving load/stress testing with tools like Playwright, Artillery, JMeter, Gatling, or Locust.
• Experience scripting performance tests in TypeScript, Python, or Java.
• Exposure to integrating performance tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with analyzing performance metrics and reporting findings using tools like DataDog.
• Certifications: ISTQB Performance Testing, AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate), or Google Cloud Professional DevOps Engineer.

The Performance Testing QA Engineer role is a full-time, 6-month contract position initially reporting to the QA Manager. This role is a distributed position and can be based in any location.
