Responsibilities
Researches, designs, develops, and tests a variety of electronic equipment and systems, including radar and radiation detection equipment; radio, television and other communications equipment and systems; circuitry components; analog and digital computers; and control and test equipment. Designs, develops, and tests electronic systems, components, or circuits for use within equipment or machinery. Evaluates operational systems and recommends design modifications to eliminate causes of malfunctions or changes in system requirements. Develops new applications of conductive properties of metallic and nonmetallic materials used in components, and in application of components to products or systems. May use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform assignments. Contributes to the analysis and characterization of the systems including system error analysis, failure mode analysis, and cost analysis. Designs test control apparatus and equipment, determines procedures for testing products, and directs engineering personnel in fabrication of test control apparatus and equipment.
This position is contingent upon award.
Qualifications
- Four years' experience in soldering and capable of demonstrating current proficiency.
- Four years' experience designing, building or repairing simple electronic circuits involving transistors, op-amps, etc.
- Four years' experience analyzing basic serial protocols (12C, SPI, uWire, etc.)
- Four years' experience installing and configuring IP equipment that is common to many "smait" homes including but not limited to IP cameras, Digital Video Recorders, and security systems.
- Past experience installing and testing network cables, patch panels and racks.
- Experience in data extraction from digital storage devices and the use of corresponding tools (MCU, EEPROM, SRAM, etc.)
- Proficiency with laboratory equipment (Oscilloscope, Power Supply, Logic Analyzer, Power Load Generator, Signal Generator, Multi-Meter)
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong listening, questioning and technical troubleshooting techniques
- Associate's Degree in Electronic Technology or Engineering Technology or another engineering discipline, considerable experience will be considered in lieu or degree
- Active Top Secret US government security clearance

Target Salary Range
