<p>The Barcelona Institute for Global Health (ISGlobal) is a cutting-edge institute addressing global public health challenges through research, translation into policy and education. ISGlobal has a broad portfolio in communicable and non-communicable diseases including environmental and climate determinants, and applies a multidisciplinary scientific approach ranging from the molecular to the population level. Research is organized in five programs: Climate, Air Pollution, Nature and Urban Health; Environment and Health over the Lifecourse; Global Viral and Bacterial Infections; Malaria and Neglected Parasitic Diseases and Maternal Child and Reproductive Health. ISGlobal is accredited with the Severo Ochoa distinction, a seal of excellence of the Spanish Science Ministry.</p><p>The activities will be carried out in the framework of the project “INEQUALRED: Implementing a platform for interventions to reduce health inequalities and mitigate the impact of economic downturns”, funded by the Ministry of Science and Innovation. ‘This contract is part of the action CNS2023-144121, funded by MCIN/AEI/10.13039/ 501100011033 and by the European Union “NextGenerationEU”/PRTR’.</p><h3><strong>WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR</strong></h3><p>ISGlobal is seeking a full-time pre-doctoral researcher candidate in social epidemiology to join our dynamic and multidisciplinary Global Health Impact Assessment and Evaluation Group (IMPACThealth), and manage activities in the project IMPACTaid. The overall goal of the IMPACThealth group is to evaluate the impact of public interventions on health outcomes. The group is part of the ISGlobal Severo Ochoa (SO) programme which supports interdisciplinary science to improve the understanding of complex health problems. The group collaborates with other programmes to evaluate and model more effective interventions to advance the Sustainable Development Goals. The group also aims to maximize its research impact through advocacy activities and dynamic dialogue with policy makers and programme managers.</p><p>The Project “INEQUALRED: Implementing a platform for interventions to reduce health inequalities and mitigate the impact of economic downturns” aims to create a comprehensive models and platforms that will allow to design social policies in order to be reduce morbidity, mortality and health inequalities, and mitigate the health effects of the current and future global economic downturns.</p><p>The predoctoral candidate will be expected to develop epidemiological analyses designed to estimate the health impact of social interventions at the local and global level, as well as the potential effects of alternative mitigation strategies. The core structure and much of the coding for these models have already been developed by our group, which will provide support on the statistical, mathematical, and epidemiological components of the modelling refinement.</p><p>The Global Health Impact Assessment and Evaluation Group is a multi-institutional, multi-country, and multidisciplinary team that brings together expertise from epidemiology, global health, economics, statistics, mathematics, and related fields.</p><p>The predoctoral candidate will also contribute to other projects within the IMPACThealth group and benefit from the expertise of a wide network of researchers and modellers across Europe, Latin America, and Sub-Saharan Africa, where the group is actively developing models and conducting studies.</p><p>For further insights into the group’s collaborative network and ongoing projects, please visit:<br/><a href="https://www.isglobal.org/en/health-impact-assessment">https://www.isglobal.org/en/health-impact-assessment</a><br/><a href="https://gsenetwork.wordpress.com/">https://gsenetwork.wordpress.com/</a> </p><ul></ul><ul></ul><h3><strong>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></h3><ul>
<li>Conducting epidemiological studies in projects led by the IMPACThealth group.</li>
<li>Supporting the development of study proposals in the area of Health Impact Assessment and Evaluation.</li>
</ul><h3><strong>SPECIFIC DUTIES</strong></h3><ul>
<li>Support the coordination of activities related to the project</li>
<li>Design and conduct epidemiological studies</li>
<li>Prepare scientific manuscripts;</li>
<li>Contribute to scientific discussion and participation in other activities in the group;</li>
<li>Support the writing and organization of scientific proposals.</li>
