St. Petersburg is our primary soft gel development and manufacturing facility in North America with capacity of 18 billion capsules per year.  Within the Catalent network, we offer a broad range of integrated formulation and analytical services to solve difficult development and manufacturing challenges.   

The Raw Materials Sampler will perform sampling of all incoming raw materials and packaging components. Inspects all incoming raw materials, taking representative samples as necessary. Tests for physical measurement of Packaging Components. The Raw Materials Sampler will document results, maintain laboratory notebook according to cGMP and Internal guidelines. Communicate results in written and oral.  Help train new hired colleagues; contribute to continuous improvement within the group. Comply with FDA, EPA and OSHA regulations, performing all work in a safe manner. Maintain proper records in accordance with all SOP's and policies. May be exposed to occasional low level of noise from manufacturing equipment on the production floor.

The Role 

• Must be able to follow written instructions and specifications under GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) guidelines.
• Interaction with the shipping/receiving dept. in the facility warehouse.  
• Inspects all incoming raw material containers; verifies accurate label information, lot numbers and associated paperwork.
• Responsible for entering sample information into a logbook. Good documentation practices a must. 
• Samples incoming raw materials by physically removing a representative sample from a selected number of containers; detects off-color specification, particle size, appearance, etc.
• Tests for physical measurement of Packaging Components and specific Identification tests of various Raw Materials.
• Prepares sample label(s), delivers sample(s) to Quality Control Laboratory. 
• Files and maintain Raw Material retain samples. Prepares Analytical and sampling report forms.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Candidate 

• High School education required, preferably with some college course work in related sciences 
• Must possess good interpersonal skills
• Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers 
• Some of the work will be in the warehouse
