About the role
Senior Transmission Analyst
Location: New York City
Working with the Commercial Operations team, the Senior Transmission Analyst is responsible for maintaining and operating software for modeling transmission basis in the context of renewable generation assets and complex transactions in US power markets. This role will require detailed knowledge of the current and future transmission grid across North America. The Senior Transmission Analyst will report to the Vice President, Commercial Operations.
Responsibilities
- In this position you will be a subject matter expert on sources of transmission network models and other relevant input data
- Maintain and enhance Dayzer or other transmission modeling software
- Ensure the transmission modeling software’s inputs are accurate and up to date on a daily basis
- Produce nodal LMP forecasts across multiple ISO’s for short-term and long-term cases
- Analyze model results and ensure the accuracy of transmission modeling software
- Collaborate with trading teams to run ad-hoc sensitivity cases
- Present regional price forecasts to management on a quarterly basis and highlight transmission congestion impacts
- Respond to requests from other Brookfield entities for data and analysis
- Model short term transmission dynamics to support trading as well as long term analysis to support investment and project decision making

Required Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, , or other relevant discipline
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages (Python, Matlab, R, etc.) is required
- Tableau or other Business Intelligence skills preferred
- Advanced knowledge of MS Excel; knowledge of SQL is preferred
- 2-5 years’ experience with Dayzer or another transmission modeling tool is required
- Price forecasting in LMP market or power system modeling within an ISO market
- Knowledge of the bulk power system in the US
Salary: $110,000 - $140,000
