The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) team has an exciting opportunity for an Entry-Level Manufacturing Engineer (level 1) in Huntsville, AL.

We provide support for our Mission Operations Portfolio area which design, build, test, deploy, operate, and maintain a wide variety of mission critical platforms and systems for commercial and government customers. Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads teams in analyzing product development, innovative producibility studies and production/tooling philosophies.

  • Conceptualizes and oversees the implementation of the program architecture for build.

  • Develops manufacturing plans or concepts for high level program requirements.

  • Resolves complex technical problems.

  • Organizes technical aspects of proposal development.

  • Develops and authors new engineering principles, theories and advanced technologies. Develops advanced design solutions.

  • Conducts research resulting in new product or business opportunities. Consults on lean principles and technologies for enterprise wide initiatives.

  • Documents and communicates producibility best practices. Identifies training needs. Establishes procedures, standards, protocols and reporting requirements.

  • Understand how to accomplish tasks through formal channels and informal network; understand the cultures of organizations.

  • Using a variety of media, clearly convey information and ideas to individuals or groups in a manner that engages the audience and helps them understand and retain the message

  • Make customers and their needs a primary focus of one's actions

  • Provide products and services that meet the highest technical and quality standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies and processes and embrace first-time quality as a way of life – not accepting, creating or passing any defects and speaking up

  • Identify and correct conditions and behaviors that affect employee, public, and customer safety; uphold safety standards; demonstrate proactive safety culture leadership

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • Experience establishing manufacturing build plans

  • Experience working in a production focused engineering role

  • Experience working with tooling and/or manufacturing operations processes

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering

  • Experience supporting defense and/or aerospace customers

  • Experience with circuit card assemblies

  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution System Common Image (MESci)

Summary pay range: $46,750 - $63,250
