Lyme HCP Marketing Team Lead

ROLE SUMMARY 

Vaccines is the only place in Pfizer where you can contribute to patients in a way like no other – you can prevent sickness and disease.  This is at the heart of what drive us every day and it brings us great #Joy.  This role will be accountable to shape and drive the strategy for providing protection against Lyme disease in the US.  

Lyme disease is a systemic infection caused by Borrelia burgdorferi bacteria transmitted to humans by the bite of infected Ixodes ticks. It is considered the most common vector-borne illness in the Northern Hemisphere. Early symptoms of Lyme disease (such as a gradually expanding erythematous rash called erythema migranes or other nonspecific symptoms like fatigue, fever, headache, mild stiff neck, muscle and joint pains) are often overlooked or misinterpreted. Left untreated, the disease can disseminate and cause more serious chronic complications affecting the skin, joints (arthritis), heart (carditis) or nervous system. Preventive measures for Lyme disease are limited by their effectiveness and compliance (e.g., insect repellent, removing ticks promptly and reducing tick habitat) and no vaccine is currently available. The medical need for vaccination against Lyme disease is steadily increasing as the geographic footprint of the disease widens.  

LB6V (formerly known as VLA-15) is currently undergoing Phase 3 development for the prevention of Lyme Disease in individuals 5 years of age and older. With expected FDA approval in 1H 2027, ​a US marketing team for LB6V is being formed to advance key pre-launch workstreams. 

The US Lyme HCP Team Lead will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the branded and unbranded launch strategy for healthcare professionals (HCPs). This leader will be responsible for hiring and managing a team of 4 talented colleagues (2 full-time, 2 rotational/growth gigs) to drive HCP education and adoption. 

The ideal candidate will have significant and recent US marketing expertise and will have led the advancement of key market development and brand imperatives to maximize brand value. This colleague should also have strong business acumen, the ability to expertly uncover insights and lead a team to action against and be driven by a belief that measuring impact is foundational to progress. Pre-launch and launch experience are preferred, in addition to people management (formal or informal). 

This role reports to the US Lyme Brand Lead and will partner closely with several critical internal Pfizer teams/colleagues including, but not limited to, the HSS Field Force, IIS, Media, Medical, Legal, Regulatory, and external vendors/agency partners

RESPONSIBILITIES 

Team Management & Internal Leadership 

• Hire and manage a team of 4 talented HCP marketing colleagues (2 full-time, 2 rotational/growth gigs) and foster team professional development, perpetuating team culture of excellence and joy 

• Act as key contributor, presenter, and oversee all HCP team’s efforts for internal brand strategic planning, customer-facing colleague plan of action (POA) meetings, including meeting preparation, agendas, and story line for most effective communications and training 

• As a member of the US Lyme leadership team, responsible for championing team direction, development, and wellness and fostering Primary Care and US Vaccine’s strategic imperatives of Empowering Our People, Unlocking Potential, and Maximizing Performance 

• Responsible for onboarding AOR & Med-Ed agency, as well as managing and partnering to effectively meet business needs and troubleshoot challenges collaboratively, and overseeing budget management to maximize ROI

• Responsible for setting HCP core strategy and vision in critical pre-launch period 

• Own the overall HCP stakehold
