And for that, we need your help. </p><p><br/></p><p><strong>SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER</strong><strong> at Vitestro</strong> </p><p>As a Senior Software Engineer – AI Planning, you will report to the pilot team lead Pascal Wolkotte. As part of the software team you will be surrounded by smart, passionate, loyal, goal driven and highly skilled people – working together towards cutting edge solutions. </p><p>You will be designing our next generation robotic task planner to directly contribute to the overall device performance. Next to that you stay informed in advancements in the field of robotic task planning and increase the understanding of the overall behavior of our device and its constraints. <br/>You will transfer your ideas to peers and guide them to grow. As you are responsible for part of our roadmap, you are able to convince and challenge experienced system and software architects in the company. </p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Your key responsibilities</strong> </p><ul><li>Improve our device performance with a focus on blood draw success and procedure time reduction. </li><li>Define and realize the foundation of our next generation robotic task planner in our device, which shall enable us to handle the dynamic and responsive environment seen at the patient’s phlebotomy site. </li><li>Owner of the strategy / planning part of our puncture performance roadmap.</li><li>In collaboration with the patient and robotic modelling team you will define the next generation features for our device.</li><li>In collaboration with data scientists you can predict the success of these features.</li><li>Explore and propose techniques in the field of AI-based task and motion planning and design and integrate these in our existing software design</li><li>Contribute to field tests and trials to evaluate existing features and propose directions for future tests</li><li>Extend and improve our blood drawing strategy and decision making</li><li>Interact with other software teams to properly define interfaces between our task planning / strategy layer and our patient model</li><li>Create and extend software designs that enable your peer software engineers to evaluate new planning strategies on the actual device</li></ul> <p><br/></p><p><strong>How you will do it</strong> </p><ul><li>You have a ‘can do it’ mentality </li><li>You’re a team player </li><li>You love to work on the toughest challenges </li><li>You’ll find cutting-edge solutions </li><li>You strive for excellence in all domains </li></ul> <h3>Requirements</h3> <p><strong>What you will bring</strong> </p><ul><li>At least 5 years of experience in robotic task planning or AI planning in robotic automation or game development </li><li>Hands-on experience with finite state machines, hierarchical task networks, behavior trees and/or other action planning architectures. </li><li>Ideally, you have designed or extended an robotic task planner or AI action planner </li><li>Understanding of action languages like STRIPS, PDDL</li><li>Strong knowledge of the C++ and/or python programming language</li><li>MSc or PhD in the computer science or related field</li><li>Proficiency in English is essential</li></ul><p><br/></p><p><strong>What we offer</strong> </p><ul><li>Competitive salary including pension plan </li><li>Stock options, to become ‘co-owner’ of a fast-growing company </li><li>We’re open to hybrid work models </li><li>Working together in a high-skilled team with our home base in Utrecht </li><li>Frequent out-of-work activities with our team (such as our Skit
